Today was our first work day. We had a wonderful lecture about Mexican culture by an amazing female professor. This was followed by a delicious lunch - beans, rice, picadillo, shredded pork and chicken with delicious and spicy (but not hot) sauces, and three fresh salads. The best however was the flan, you know how much I love desserts.
My paradise, however, came in the afternoon, when we visited "La Libreraria de Fondo Rosario Castellanos." It follows the B&N system where one can pick a book and read it, and it has a very nice coffee shop - I had a cappuccino (?) but the amoung of incredible, different, and rare books "en espanol" for me, was amazing. I bought a few for my personal use but I wanted more.
Eduardo Del Rio Garcia, known as RIUS, is a very famous mexican author and he was being interviewed at the bookstore. He is a satirical and political caricaturist/writer. Many of us bought one or two (me) of his books and he authographed them, plus had pictures taken with him. Me? I didn't take my camera today!
After school, five of us walked to "Colonia Condesa" and had something to eat and share ideas. I walked about three miles today. Great first day.
