Teotihuacan - City of the gods

During the prehispanic era, Teotihuacan was one of the largest citites of Mesoamerica.  This name was given by the Mexicas who found the city already built but abandoned.  The Mexicas believed that gods had made it.  Teotihuacan means city of the gods.  It is unknown who were the first people who lived in Teotihuacan.
